Skilled-intervention and the highest level of care for each and every child is always provided.

Compassion – We offer a warm and welcoming environment for all children. We speak and act with empathy and understanding. Our patients’ beliefs and values are supported within the context of their physical therapy plan.

Inclusion – We are committed to creating a kind and inclusive environment within our clinic and community. Differences are embraced and respected.

Collaboration – A team approach is crucial to allow the child to achieve functional goals across a variety of environments as well as to reduce the communicative load on parents and guardians. We understand the importance of treating the whole child.

Growth – We are dedicated to seeking continuing education opportunities pertaining to the pediatric outpatient setting and staying up to date with research and best practice.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF A NAME…

Muddy sneakers are a part of childhood. They symbolize adventure, play, messiness, and innocence. Not all children have the opportunity to get their sneakers muddy, to get grass stains on their pants, or to get woodchips stuck in their socks. As my career unfolded in the world of pediatrics, there have been some moments that will stay with me forever. Particularly, moments where a parent will approach me, their child’s sneaker in hand, tears in their eyes. They will point out the scuff, or the grass stain, or the mud on this sneaker. It is no longer looking brand-new, and this is reason to rejoice. This muddy sneaker symbolizes that their child was able to participate with their peers outside, get onto the ground or out of their wheelchair, have that sensory experience, and feel the freedom of being a kid.
